Staged in and around Olivia Plender’s Rise Early, Be Industrious Installation at MK Gallery, ‘Temporary Sites (A Proposal)’ suggests the idea of exhibition making as a temporal as well as a physical space. An Utopian proposal for a undefined site that enables a specific range of social and aesthetic dynamics to take place.
Through a selection of performances, screenings and sculptures; The event can be understood as a device to explore ideas of impermanence, contingency and specificity.
We would like to ask the questions; What does it mean to establish a context within an existing context? What happens to the relationships forged between these parts when they become dispersed as printed material and online resources?
A publication was produced produced to coincide with this event, with a text by Jack Brindley
