File under — performance

Accumulation of Marginal Gains is an animation made up from hundreds of still images of a light tracing its path across the artists studio. The video takes its title from a statement by the Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy when he described the minute incremental decreases of 100th of a second that you would accumuate when continually cycling around a velodrome.

This performance was shown at Grand Union, Birmingham as part of ‘Virtual Space/Digital Trace’. Including work by David Raymond Conroy, Ed Atkins, Mark Titchner, Richard Healy, Tim Dixon, Tom Badley and Trisha Baga. Related themes: animation, space and trace.
