In Camp Fire Solina HiFi picked up and processed ambient sound from the Grand Union gallery space at building-rattling levels. Simultaneously video monitors showed the sound mathematically transposed into colour.
As well as a conventional recording, a contact mic attached to the gallery windows recorded the architecture’s vibrations.
This performance was shown at ‘Echoes (disambiguation)’, Grand Union, Birmingham, alongside work by Steven Dickie and Stuart Bannister and Vasco Alves, Adam Asnan and Louie Rice. This work addresses architecture, audio, documentation, frequency, sound and space.
